03 04 2010

The Grand 'Easter Bonnet Parade' was today in Abergavenny as part of the town's Easter celebrations. The group, a mixture of children and adults met first for their photo-call in the Cibi Precinct prior to their walk through the town to the newly completed Brewery Yard to meet up with sponsors Sunshine Radio, where everyone was presented with an Easter Egg.
Tomorrow on Easter Day the town will host 'The Passion' where Jesus' final days are re enacted through the town.
On a personal note I have been resisting buying 'tech' lately however today I did cave in somewhat and have ordered myself an Amazon Kindle 2 with UK spec. The machine should arrive in 3-4 days.... reports on this once it arrives.

Happy Easter to all readers

02 04 2010

90 days into the 365 blog posts, today was a public holiday.  I spent the day in the St. David's 2 Centre in Cardiff. I  was seriously tempted by an Asus 1001ha on offer for just £199......the offer ends next Wednesday, look out to see how tempted I become.

Today's image is of our tickets for Hairspray at the Millennium Centre on April 17th.

A close run for today as it is 11.30pm blog post just in time!

There were some interesting April Fool's Day jokes today, the Google Translate for pets. : -)

Today's image above is of our snowy hills taken at 8.00am.

On the final day of March 2010 we have snow. The saying that if March comes in like a Lamb it will go out like a Lion was proved to be correct. I wonder what further surprises the British weather has in store for us?

Today also my small analogue TV fell silent as Wales went fully digital.

Today's image is of the Chinese 'Jade' stamp which depicts my birth sign The Rooster with the character for Paul carved on the base.

This loved item was brought back in 2005 and is treasured though these days infrequently used.

Today's image is of the rain running off the windscreen of the car outside the house late this afternoon..... Apparently this week we are due for the winter to come back and bite the UK before it leaves us for 2010, even though we entered British Summer Time yesterday, by midweek the north of the UK will return to snow and blizzards. We will see.... it is Easter week after all!
It could only happen in the UK..... or could it happen elsewhere?

Just look what I found on the shelves at my local supermarket today....... Brynmawr is not known for its antipodean population, yet hey, there its is Vegemite in Wales !!( shown with its British cousin Marmite) No I didn't purchase any on this occasion, however we are expecting an Australian visitor on Friday and I may drop buy and pick some up in the week.
