I am still unsure as to whether new year 2010 is the start of a new decade, should it not be 2011? However in favour of this being the start of the new decade would be that the Millennium began on 1st January 2000 as have each of the centuries in between, so we will call this the start of the 'teenies' as we leave the hugely influential 'noughties'

I am going to attempt this year to keep a regular daily blog post going throughout the year..... just to show how boring my life really is!!! I am notoriously bad at successfully following through with this type of thing, I could never keep a diary however he goes. The blog posts will where possible come with a picture of the day.

I look forward to 2010 with an open mind and no specific personal hopes and desires apart from hoping at some point to be able to visit Australia and New Zealand and looking forward to a successful year for IB Online PD workshops, I would dearly like to meet up with a college chum of mine who we drifted apart from over 20 years ago, recently rediscovered via LinkedIn.

I began the year with a brisk walk down to the village (Gilwern) with a beautiful blue sky and sharp winter sun as you can see below.

2010 begins with many of the worries that we all share such as the unforgiving thud of envelopes bearing credit card payments required to pay for Christmas and pre-Christmas festivities and presents, the hope that my whole extended family will remain healthy and well for 2010 and beyond.

There are some personal issues to be resolved we all share these to some degree or other. For me it will be to get the glasses that I sat on 2 nights ago repaired and to find a simple way to empty my daughter's 1/4 full washing machine as it has blocked yet again probably by one of her kids socks! Indeed 01 01 2010 seems very similar to 31 12 2009 however isn't that just life?
